A legendary figure within the underground dance scene, Savvas 
has been involved in electronic music for three decades. A 
veteran of the DJ circuit and a production career dating back to 
a 2011 debut, the Greek artist has been a familiar sight on the 
likes of Anjunadeep, The Purr and 3rd Avenue. A trio of remixes 
for Proton Music have seen reworkings of Erdi Irmak, Rick Pier 
O'Neil and GMJ as Savvas now releases his debut EP on the label 
with Reminisce.

A sonic triumph with a beautiful melodic narrative, the title 
track lilts enticingly along its 9-minute journey with a 
delicately flowing lead line. Beautiful piano phrases add to the 
sonic tapestry as breathy vocal and complementary motifs create 
a stunning work. A rolling rhythmic groove and deep kick provide 
the backdrop for Momentum to continue the rich melodic 
atmosphere as free-flowing lines and subtly plucked guitar 
themes resonate gently. Through a beautiful combination of 
counterpoint phrasing the track oozes class and craftsmanship. 
Characterised by a glorious broken beat rhythm, Reflections 
harkens back to a bygone era of progressive breaks as sublime 
melodies flow, juxtaposed to a chunky rolling cadence. Full of 
delicate touches that evolve and blossom over the 6-minute 
piece, the track hypnotises with a repetitive sonic beauty that 
culminates in a powerful woodwind sequence post breakdown.

A Proton Music newcomer, RIGOONI is a much sought-after name. 
After a 2018 debut, the Brazilian artist quickly went on to see 
his music signed for a host of blue-chip imprints. February 2020 
marked a notable highlight as Serenade appeared on Nick Warren's 
The Soundgarden, swiftly followed by remixes for Meanwhile, 
Particles and the beautiful Petrichor as part of Anjunadeep 
Explorations 17. Supported by the DJ elite of Guy J, Hernan 
Cattaneo and Warren himself, the RIGOONI remix of Reminisce is a 
gorgeous interpretation that glitters around a light percussive 
backdrop and thumping kick. Making intelligent use of original 
components, new melodies flow from the seeds sown by Savvas into 
emotive new sequences and mesmerising patterns. Pausing for 
breath at the breakdown, additional chord progressions ebb 
through the third movement to create a distinctive and 
breath-taking new remix.

An artist with a rich musical heritage to his name, Vridian 
combines elements of melodic techno and deep house to create a 
vibrant and distinctive sound. A recognised DJ across his Indian 
home, Vridian's production career has seen him sign his work to 
such celebrated labels as Manjumasi, Qilla Records and Dream 
Culture. Returning to Proton Music after an impressive 2020 
reworking of Soulwerk, Vridian initially swaps the chunky broken 
beat of Savvas' original with a subtle rolling groove and 
subterranean kick. Building elegantly, a shimmering breaks 
pattern enters the fray as an immaculately syncopated bassline 
sits perfectly between to create a sublime dub sound. As the 
free-flowing melody of Reflections meanders through proceedings, 
gently pitched dub keys pitch effortlessly into the second half 
to create an innovative sound.

A musical triptych combined with remixes from RIGOONI and 
Vridian have given Savvas plenty to Reminisce about.
