Rossi delivers an excellent four-track release for Homegrown.
Punctuated by swinging rhythms and funk basslines, Rossi focuses on a
groovy approach throughout. "Honey I'm..." exemplifies this sound.
Focused on a seductive vocal narrative fused with a subtle, rolling
groove, it's closer to 90s vocal house than the techy European
variant. "Fly" follows in a similar vein, but with a focus on tweaked
acid. "Knock Knock" sees Rossi go back to deeper territory with
rolling snares and a moody bass underpinning tonal bleeps. Drawing on
old school influences, "Wildcard" serves up an irresistible mixture of
floaty, bleary synths with a US house bass.
