Maintaining a proud tradition among Australian producers, Mtty's debut
release straddles the worlds of break beat, house and techno. "Sht?m"
is a high-paced but soulful affair. It features an insistent, stepping
rhythm underpinning swirling synths and haunting melodic sequences. On
"Oma The Wailmer", Mtty slows down the tempo. He adds in hip-hop
scratches and vocal samples, while layering in mellow, jazzy chords.
"That's Nonsensical" takes its cues from late 90s UK tech house.
Centred on a wiry groove and subsonic squelches and bleeps, dissected
vocal samples augment the arrangement's trippy sensibility. "Wonki"
sees Mtty repeat this approach, albeit with a more stripped back
sound.
