Glaswegian house impresario Tiptoes delivers a fiery EP, Record
Business, which provides a third outing on the SlothBoogie label.
These tracks have been highly anticipated since he teased them at a
legendary 24-hour party in Berlin, sending crowds into a frenzy of
track IDs goes the story. The lead cut is a peak-hour house banger no
doubt, while "Call Me" serves up some Motown loops, jackin' brass
stabs, and a vocal complaint about Tiptoes' unreturned calls. "Food"
then provides a deep house roller with hypnotic loops and tribal
rhythms to hang on to, with Tiptoes exploring his deeper side with
"Brothers & Sisters" that offers hazy beats, MPC magic, and some
spoken word knowledge. "It's Only Love" then channels Motor City vibes
with its soulful loops, KDJ-inspired vocals, and groovy string
sections. A SlothBoogie favourite for sure.
