For the latest missive on his reliable House Puff label, DJ Steaw has
turned to Amsterdam artist Artmann. He's duly delivered a fine EP in
which memorable melodies, addictive basslines and attractive chords
wrap around loose-limbed, sweat-soaked house beats. For proof, check
fine opener (and title track) 'Stick Around', a funky and energy-
packed slab of electric piano solo-sporting deep house perfection, and
the weightier, more bass-heavy sweatiness of 'Son Of The Night'.
Elsewhere, 'Let's Bounce' sits somewhere between classic DJ Sneak and
French filter funk, and 'Welcome To House' is a jazzy, organ-sporting
deep house roller full of nods to New Jersey garage and vintage New
York deep house.
