Kicking off 2021 by continuing to support up and coming talents 
in the modern underground dance arena, Meanwhile begins the year 
with a twin-track offering from gifted Ukrainian artist, Nopi, 
and his sublime Spoon Light EP.

One of the brightest stars in the underground house cosmos over 
the past eighteen months, Nopi has continued to excel with a 
raft of original and remix material throughout 2020. An array of 
leading imprints has thus queued up to feature the Ukrainian's 
work with Cid Inc.'s Replug, the ever-reliable, Anjunadeep and 
Jacob Henry's Silk Music all releasing original music in the 
last months of the year the latter with the mesmerising 
seven-track Bila EP that has seen Nopi reach a fitting high 
point at year's end.

Now debuting on Meanwhile, the title track is a scintillating 
tour de force that bristles with trademark emotion and glorious 
melodic brio. Driven purposefully forward with rich, sustained 
bassline and delicate percussive flair, shimmering pads and 
muted arpeggio pan the stereo spectrum with ease as ethereal 
vocal cuts whisper barely heard phrases, rich in reverb and 
delay. Building in intensity via a glorious breakdown, Spoon 
Light picks up the pace again in the third movement to create a 
rarely heard emotive intensity as dizzying gated synths add 
further aural colour.

Partner track, Creative Sheet continues the intelligent melodic 
narrative of its predecessor as an intricate percussive top-line 
and immaculately syncopated bass groove provide a wonderfully 
worked rhythmic framework. Evolving seamlessly into the second 
movement, an expertly woven sonic tapestry reveals itself via 
panned effects, pulsating white-noise washes and potent synth 
phrasing. The result is a magnificent illustration of Nopi's 
talent and ability to match groove and melody with poise and 
purpose.

Bending sonic reality with expert skill and craftsmanship, 
Nopi's Spoon Light is full of iridescent colour.
