Under the Rawdio alias, Reinout van Eycken built his reputation via a
series of must-check EPs on the Home Cookin' imprint he founded 12
years ago. Here he makes a rare appearance on another label - Miura to
be precise - in what appears to be his third missive of 2024. He sets
his stall out with title track 'Bigga & Bolda', a glossy, chunky and
loved-up slab of retro-futurist deep house hedonism wrapped in
attractive synth stabs and jazzy bass, before dialling this up to 130
BPM on the organ-rich '90s house nostalgia of 'Flow'. He opts for
tougher beats and ultra-deep sub-bass on closing cut 'Where Did The
Cat Go?', overlaying this rock-solid bass with jazzy synth stabs and
restless TB-303 acid lines.
