Following tradition, we briefed our invited artists (musicians and
painter) to create their own interpretations of the underworld
according to Aztec mythology:
Tepeme Monamictln is the second of nine levels of the underworld
Mictln, also residence of Tepeyllotl (god of mountains, echoes and
jaguar); this is the place where two mountains crash, producing
enormous echoes as signs for the dead to cross to the next level.
For this occasion, we suggested the musicians to intersect the concept
with a trip-hop sound, while staying true to their craft.
The results are beautiful.
