Villain Era arrives with a dark and electrifying addition to Colony's
lineup across this brand new four track collection, exploring the
grittier side of the new garage boom with a set of absolute stompers.
We open up with the uber-groovy shakes of 'Stack That', a skippy
switcheroo between subtle 2-step drums and lethal bass swoops,
followed by both the breaks-driven bass overloads of 'Nefarious' and
the more traditional syncopated garage grooves of 'Vandal'. Finally,
'Mingle' sees the softer side of Villain Era on the display with a
gorgeous fusion of tidy chord arrangements and metallic bass licks,
rounding things off in style.
