French disco-house veteran Joss Moog serves up three absolutely superb
slices of largely instrumental disco with a distinctly 70s flavour
here. 'Saxophonic' gets the ball rolling, a shimmering, lounge-y
affair with no prizes for guessing which instrument takes the lead -
serious Love Boat vibes! 'Eastside' rides a housier backbeat and
features looped, sampled near-falsetto vox that have something of a
Crown Heights-ish feel, though their actual origins are unknown, with
the package completed by 'Filo', in which a nagging, sparkling keys
riff, horn parps, strings and vocal stabs sit atop a hefty 4/4 kick.
'Saxophonic' takes the gold but all three are pretty much essential.
