The fast-rising Burnin Music label has been in fine form of late,
offering up must-check EPs from Nenor and Platnev. This EP, which
marks the full label debut of German artist Etur Usheo, is another
excellent excursion. Title track 'Love, Play & Funk' is genuinely
delicious, spacey and warming deep house excursion - all intergalactic
synth stabs, rubbery synth-bass, sustained chords and eyes-closed
vocal snippets, while 'Shiffling Hands' [sic] is a more relaxed and
positive-sounding chunk of synth-powered deep house goodness.
Elsewhere, 'Galaxy Groove' is a gently uplifting slab of percussion-
rich deep house loveliness full of lilting leads lines and hazy
keyboard stabs, while 'Silk' is deep and seductive, with plenty of
intricate musical details and a tactile, eyes-closed feel.
