PCP aka Pieter Claeys joins forces with fellow Belgian and
Balmoral resident Lou8 aka David Latour to get our 2024 underway
with the superb 'Exit'. Pieter is an oldskool jock considered
with legendary status who spent much of his time destroying the
dancefloors of Belgium's top clubs and festivals. Over the last
few years, he's been churning out some top-quality vibes for us
at Bonzai Progressive as well as releases on several top labels
including his own Rewritable Records. David marks his debut
appearance on the label and brings his distinct style which he's
honed for almost two decades. He started out DJing in 2000,
playing at Balmoral and Boccaccio before setting his sights at
festivals such as Tomorrowland and Dance Dvision among others.
His tracks reach far and wide across Europe and his DJ sets are
a reflection of his newest moniker, Lou8.
PCP (BE) opens the release with his mix, delivering a
wonderfully rich and dynamic progressive mover. Nice and thick
kicks drive the groove as soft hats and sporadic percussions
fill out the spectrum. A deep, subby bassline controls the lower
frequencies as dark synth plucks weave a trippy sequence. Gritty
swells contrast with bright strings and subtle melodies that
give the track a cool, edgy vibe. LOU8 rounds out the release
with his version, taking us on a deep, grooving journey into
progressive house. Chunky beats and spritely hats combine
alongside rhythmic percussions to deliver toe tapping goodness.
Sharp synth plucks dominate as an offbeat bassline rolls along
the low-end. The break reveals sublime melodics that build us up
to the climax and on to the final act. A definite must have, no
doubt.
